The untimely-image concerns the clearing for and the expression of figures of “potential” in thought in the form of moving-images. What is at issue is whether intentionality has normative features, and if so, whether that constitutes a problem for naturalistic attempts to account for intentional phenomena. - Martina Angela Caretta, Situated Knowledge in Cross-Cultural, Cross-Language Research : A Collaborative Reflexive Analysis of Researcher, Assistant and Participant Subjectivities.This article analyzes situated knowledge through the lens of the author and her three field assistants. This work is written self-reflexively and is based on geographical fieldwork in Eastern Africa. It seeks to capitalize on the personal and professional relationships of the researcher and her field assistants to improve both research outcomes and working arrangements. In political theory, the idea of emancipation has typically been understood as a process of rationalization involving the promotion of human rights or the historical overcoming of capitalism. - Britt Jakobson, Learning Science Through Aesthetic Experience in Elementary School : Aesthetic Judgement, Metaphor and Art.This thesis considers the role of aesthetic meaning-making in elementary school science learning. Children’s aesthetic experiences are traced through their use of aesthetic judgements, spontaneous metaphors and art activities.
