Joint crisis plans and psychiatric advance directives in German psychiatric practice: Table 1.Katrin Radenbach, Peter Falkai, Traudel Weber-Reich & Alfred Simon - 2014 - Journal of Medical Ethics 40 (5):343-345.
This study explores the attitude of German psychiatrists in leading positions towards joint crisis plans and psychiatric advance directives. This topic was examined by contacting 473 medical directors of German psychiatric hospitals and departments. They were asked to complete a questionnaire developed by us. That form contained questions about the incidence and acceptance of joint crisis plans and psychiatric advance directives and previous experiences with them. 108 medical directors of psychiatric hospitals and departments responded . Their answers demonstrate that in (...)

    Whitehead's Pancreativism: The Basics.Michel Weber - 2006 - De Gruyter.
There is one question that any potential reader who suspects that Alfred North Whitehead (1861-1947) might be important for past, contemporary, and future philosophy inevitably raises: how should I read Whitehead? How can I make sense of this incredibly dense tissue of imaginative systematizing, spread over decades of work in disciplines so different and specialized as algebra, geometry, logic, relativistic physics and philosophy of science? Accordingly, this monograph has two main complementary objectives. The first one is to propose a (...)

La science et le monde moderne d'Alfred North Whitehead?: Alfred North Whitehead's Science and the Modern World.François Beets, Michel Dupuis & Michel Weber (eds.) - 2006 - De Gruyter.
The second international Chromatiques whiteheadiennes conference was devoted exclusively to the exegesis and contextualization of Whitehead's Science and the Modern World (1925). In order to elucidate the meaning and significance of this epoch-making work, the Proceedings are designed to form "companion" volume. With one paper devoted to each of its thirteen chapters, the Proceedings aim, on the one hand, to identify the specific contribution of each chapter to Whitehead's own research program - that is to say, to put its categories (...)

Les Principes de la Connaissance Naturelle d'Alfred North Whitehead =.Guillaume Durand & Michel Weber (eds.) - 2007 - Ontos.
The fourth international "Chromatiques whiteheadiennes" conference was devoted to the philosophy of the natural sciences that is characteristic of Whitehead's "London Epoch". COntinuing the efforts of the Liège and Louvain-la-Neuve meetings, the conference focused on An Enquiry Concerning the Principles of Natural Knowledge which constitutes Whitehead's pioneering work in the field. ALl its main traits -starting with the Method of Extensiveion- are here questioned anew.

Science and the quest for reality.Alfred I. Tauber (ed.) - 1997 - New York: New York University Press.
Since Galileo, critics have waged a relentless assault against science, attacking it as dehumanizing, reductionist, relativistic, dominating, and imperialistic. Supporters meanwhile view science as synonymous with modernity and progress. The current debates over the role of science-- described by such headlines as Scientists are Urged to Fight Back Against `Politically Correct' Critics in The Chronicle of Higher Education--testify to how deeply divided we remain about the values and responsibilities of science in the modern age. Acknowledging the validity of a deep (...)

Werkausgabe: ASW.Alfred Schutz - 2003 - Konstanz: UVK Verlagsgesellschaft. Edited by Richard Grathoff, Hans-Georg Soeffner, Ilja Srubar, Martin Endress & Gerd Sebald.

Alfred Wegener’s Theory of Continental Drift and its Rivals. Rational Disagreement and Rational Consensus in the Earth Sciences Alfred Wegener launched the idea of continental drift (lateral motion of continents on the earth) early in the 20th century. In the period 1915-1930 he did not succeed to convince his fellow earth scientist to leave behind their old permanentist or contractionist theories and adopt his new theory. In the second half of the 20th century – between 1960 and 1975 (...)
