Replacing papers and naming authors

Two questions.

I would like to replace an archived (unpublished) paper with a revision. Is there an easy way of doing this?

Does the author aliasing system work on name alone? Or can it be taught to distinguish between different John Smiths.?

Thanks.

Hi Peter, thanks for your inquiry. Replacing a paper is just a matter of uploading a new copy or updating the data. Not sure what you mean by 'replace', but anything you want to do should be doable by clicking 'edit' under the paper.
Re aliases, yes aliases are only good to specify the spellings that work for you, but you can still disclaim any misattributed papers by removing them from your 'my works' list one by one. You can also add papers manually using the widget at the top of the list. Aliases are only a convenience to save you manual work.

David - Thanks. Couldn't see how to it under 'edit' but I'll go check.again.  .
