After clicking "Submit" i see the window:

Processing bibliography ..

Initializing ..

and i can't go any further.

This happens even with the .bib files that were succesfully uploaded before (half a year ago).

Hi,The abstract of my paper from Philosophy, as it appears on the PhilPapers site, is missing words (so it makes no sense). I've tried to fix it myself but I always get an error message: 'some mandatory information is missing.' I can't find anything missing. How can I fix this? Thanks

Sometimes the maintenance bot appears to be overaggressive in pruning the records. For example, I just noticed that an overview that I co-authored with Tamar Gendler
http://philpapers.org/rec/LIATPO

has been changed to have the same details as Gendler's 2000 imaginative resistance paper.

---

A related problem is that there is no easy way for me to reverse the changes except redoing everything manually. Wikis have an option to reverse edits. It would be nice if the same option existed on the Revisions History page.

Thanks!

Hi, the "embed my works" widget looks to have a lot of potential.  But is it possible to have it list only one's published (or only unpublished) works?  Or to change the list order (by pub date, title, etc.)?

This may be an artifact of various blocking programs I have, but I do not see any button to resign from a leaf or category editorship. Please help?

I suspect there is a way to search philpapers directly from BibDesk. Has anyone managed to make this work? Since there is good bibdesk support in philpapers, I am sure I am not the only one who has thought about this.

Is there a way to delete items from my reading list?

I have been told a work of mine has is not in any leaf category. When I go to fix this I cannot see how to do it. The main category is fine - but how do I add leaf categories? I suspect I'm missing something obvious but what? Thank you.   .

Hi,
I note that next to items in PhilPapers with an empty abstract field there is a "fix it" link, which allows one to enter an abstract.

Is it intended that this should only be filled by an abstract written by the author of the piece?  Or would it be useful/helpful to have abstracts written by others when the field is otherwise empty?

Kind regards

Simon

For the past three days, I have been unable to upload a new copy of a paper using the "Edit this record" function ("Online copies"). I browse and click on my new file, but the status bar remains grey. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have Analysis deselected in 'My journals', but I continue to get updates about it in the 'New articles in your journals' e-mails.

I get a notification of messages, but when I go to look they aren't there.  The following links take me to the Demonstrating Equality thread, but e.g. the Tenenbaum 2012-03-16 message is not there, nor "3 more," whatever they may be.  Is this misbehaving software or karmic dysteleology?

Thanks.

Under my profile there is a blurb under the heading "About Me". I cannot find a place to edit that blurb. Where is it?

Similarly, I cannot find a way to edit my contact info. When I click on what appears to be most relevant "edit" button, I am taken to a place where I may enter, among other things, an email address. But the email address I enter does not show up as contact info under my profile. What am I missing?

I uploaded a discussion under Value Theory but cannot find it.  Does it take time for discussions to show up?  Am I looking in the wrong place for it?  Has it been rejected for some reason?  An inquiring mind wants to know.  Thanks.

at http://philpapers.org/s/iris%20murdoch the page is headed
'Works by Iris Murdoch'

but the first item is a paper by Richard Moran.

Why is this?

Confession of interest: I noticed this because a paper of mine responds to Moran on this point, and I am curious as why Moran's paper has the special prominence accorded to 'works by iris murdoch' when no other contribution in commentary is visible on that page.

Which is the correct forum to propose a new category?

When I was about to begin to categorize a new papers for my leaf, I could see many paper that could be in a proper category, but that categoy does not exist. And I would like to propose a new category.

Thanks!

Two questions.

I would like to replace an archived (unpublished) paper with a revision. Is there an easy way of doing this?

Does the author aliasing system work on name alone? Or can it be taught to distinguish between different John Smiths.?

Thanks.

Hi,

I have just discovered that SEP entries have links to PhilPapers bibliographies such as this one

http://philpapers.org/sep/logic-conditionals/

Is it possible to import these bibliographies into PhilPapers? also it would be very useful from an editors perspective if we could categorize these bibliographies en masse.

Hi,

I'm new at this and am having some troubles. I'm trying to export a search result from philpapers to an ris file so I can import it into Mendeley. I select Reference Manager from the Export this Page box, change the number to 444 (that's how many results I had), but when I export it I get the file 'asearch.pl'. What is a pl file? In fact, I get this when I try to export it to other file types as well.

Is changing the file extension to ris safe? Will I lose any information this way? Thanks for the help.
