Abstract

This paper focuses on the differences / similarities between coordinating and (distant) subordinating binding dependencies. We consider data that is suggestive that in natural language these dependencies are implemented with the same underlying mechanism. We look at four (dynamic) systems that capture these dependencies, first with distinct mechanisms, then with single mechanisms.
