Abstract

How might we respond to the 2012 re-election? Perhaps by recalling that the “we” who elected Obama in 2008, responded to, organized, and voted as much for the “yes, we can” of our own political natality as for Obama. Those embracing the vocation of radical democratic theory and democracy, might reflect upon ways to transform the academic habitus that cramps our imagination and power. We might engage a broader demos and respond to the election by recalling it as our re-election. Important possibilities emerge for working in relation with the Obama administration, even as they are fraught with difficulty.]
