The Noise and the Message

Abstract

The scuffle that began in a corner of the “Intelligentsia Saloon” has become a general brawl. The quarrel of the “new philosophers” has become a free-for-all of everyone against everyone. What is at issue in all this noise resulting the breaking waves of contrary vociferations?

1. Is it a question of the new marketing that has recently transformed philosophy into neo-merchandise, or rather that serves to introduce a neo-merchandise as neophilosophy and previously unheard-of young talent as neo-stars (from which has resulted the scorn of purists and lone wolves, the inevitable irritation of the competitors for stardom, and the jealous fury of the ideological box office's old regulars)?
