Heidegger and Husserl
But then,to accuse Husserl of not doing something, namely not raising the question of being,is unfair, for Husserl was never in favor of beginning an inquiry with already taken for granted assumptions. Therefore Husserl saw in Heidegger's attempt a lapse into anthropology. So this anthropological construal can always be explained away in phenomenology. So concepts like facticity, throwness can also be phenomenologically deconstructed.
Is it that both party failed to read each other's position correctly? We must remember that the Husserl-Heidegger dabate has an emotional dimension (because of Heidegger's involvement in Nazism)to it.
