Polanyi's Role in Poteat's Teaching Cultural Conceptual Analysis: 1967-1976
Tradition and Discovery 35 (2):14-18 (2008)
| Abstract | The influence of Michael Polanyi on William H. Poteat’s teaching from 1967 to 1976 was apparent but not paramount. Cultural conceptual analysis as taught and practiced by Poteat during this period included Polanyian texts, themes, and concepts, but drew extensively from other major conceptual innovators who provided radical alternatives to key cultural conceptual commitments of modernity. This was the period roughly between the completion of Intellect and Hope and the writing of Polanyian Meditations | |||||||||
