Deflationism trumps pluralism!

| Abstract | This paper argues that alethic pluralism has not been successfully motivated. The strategy deployed to demonstrating this contention is to claim, first, that a deflationary version of alethic monism is the default position in the theory of truth – the theory that must be accepted unless it is defeated – and, second, that no pluralist arguments offered up to now have been sufficient to defeat it. | |||||||||
