Abstract

This essay reviews and evaluates the accomplishments of The International Network on Feminist Approaches to Bioethics over its initial fifteen years. It focuses on the origins, development, and expanding influence of FAB as a multi-disciplinary organization of feminist bioethicists. Also noted are areas of bioethics that as yet have not been adequately addressed from feminist perspectives, including intersections between health and human rights, gender disparities in the treatment of chronic disease, health research priorities that shortchange women, HIV/AIDS proliferation among women in the global South, the health needs of recent migrants, and the encroachment of corporate interests on bioethics
