Abstract
A number of the epistemological issues addressed within the context of the « Debate on historicism » are today the object of theoretical questions that anthropologists ask themselves. This paper brings out a series of topics inspired by a radical humanism and immanentism, and which are present both in historicism — a philosophical current not widely known in France — and in the cognitive procedures of anthropology. In so doing, it aims at returning to historicism the paternity of a series of reflexions which are at the core of modern humanism.
