| Abstract | The divide et impera move in defence of scientific realism aims at answering the pessimistic meta-induction argument, by adopting a selective attitude when passing judgments about truth-likeness of theories. In what follows, the discovery of Kepler’s first two laws and the transition to Newtonian mechanics is presented in an attempt to highlight the diachronic element in this move. | |||||||||
