This study investigates whether addressees visually attend to speakers¿ gestures in interaction and whether attention is modulated by changes in social setting and display size. We compare a live face-to-face setting to two video conditions. In all conditions, the face dominates as a fixation target and only a minority of gestures draw fixations. The social and size parameters affect gaze mainly when combined and in the opposite direction from the predicted with fewer gestures fixated on video than live. Gestural holds (...)

This article discusses the experience of an Icelandic woman with intellectual disabilities who was sterilized and how she has dealt with it. It also reflects on some ethical and methodological issues that arise during inclusive life history research. The article is based on cooperation between two women, Eygló Ebba Hreinsdóttir, who was labelled with intellectual disabilities when she moved to an institution in Iceland in the 1970s, and the researcher Gu?rún V. Stefánsdóttir. Since 2003 we have worked closely together (...)

  15. Ebba Sjögren (2007). Defining 'Markets' for Pharmaceuticals in Sweden: Public Policy and Commercialization. [REVIEW] Minerva 45 (2):161-173.score: 3.0
Policies that shape the market for science-based goods have ramifications for the commercialization of scientific findings. This study illustrates how subsidy policies in Sweden have evaluated prescription drugs. These have created incentives for scientific research and development that differ from those encouraged by patents, which do not primarily consider how products are used when granting protection.
