The view of time basically depends on the given society and its relation to nature and its economy. Based on the connection of past, present, and future to each other, two systems can be differentiated: cyclical time and linear time. In societies of cyclical time the individual is responsible for nature as part of the community. Today the aim of life is defined by the linear nature of time.
