JoaquÍ Fuster & M. N. (1999). Hebb's Other Postulate at Work on Words. Behavioral and Brain Sciences 22 (2):288-289.
The correlative coactivation of sensory inputs, Hebb's probably plays a critical role in the formation of word representations in the neocortex. It is essential to the acquisition of word meaning. The acquisition of semantic memory is inseparable from that of individual memory, and therefore the two probably share the same neural connective substrate. Thus, words are represented mainly in postrolandic cortex, where individual perceptual memories are also represented, whereas words are represented in frontal cortex, with executive memories. The activation (...)

    Archibald Allen (1996). Lucretius, D.R.N. 5.948. Classical Quarterly 46 (01):304-.
In his account of primitive people in D.R.N. 5 Lucretius says that they led a wandering, nomadic sort of existence ; ignorant of agriculture and husbandry, they were content to eat nuts and berries and the like , while streams and springs called them to quench their thirst : denique nota vagis silvestria templa tenebant nympharum… The rest of the sentence is a lush description of the streams which welled up from those woodland shrines, washing over rocks and moss, and (...)

Matthew Lund, N.R. Hanson on the Relation Between Philosophy and History of Science.
Despite having put the concept of HPS on the institutional map, N.R. Hanson’s distinctive account of the interdependence between history of science and philosophy of science has been mostly forgotten, and misinterpreted where it is remembered. It is argued that Hanson’s account is worthy of renewed attention and extension since, through its special emphasis on a variety of different normative criteria, it provides the framework for a fruitful and transformative interaction between the two disciplines. This essay also examines two separate (...)
