Velga Vevere (2008). Soren Kierkegaard on The Modes of Reading and Their Hermeneutical Significance. Proceedings of the Xxii World Congress of Philosophy 21:53-60.
The theme of reading and relation to the textual production is persistent in works of the Danissh philosopher and theologian of the 19th century Soren Kierkegaard. This, in turn, is closely related to his project of existential communication. One of the decisive qualifications of the project is distance, or distancing between the self and the other. The distance makes it possible for self to reflect upon his/her own existence. Kierkegaard develops this theme in his conception of existential maeutics as (...)

  6. Thomas Casey (2007). Soren Kierkegaard's Uncertain Call to Celibacy. Gregorianum 88 (3):604-618.
In this article the author argues against the dominant trend in Kierkegaardian scholarship by claiming that the primary reason for the break-up of Soren Kierkegaard's engagement to Regine Olsen was his conviction that God was calling him to celibacy. He explores the nature of this call, the struggles associated with it, and asks what exemplary value it possesses.

The dissertation explores the philosophical, literary, and stylistic similarities between the twentieth century American writer Sherwood Anderson and the nineteenth century Danish philosopher Soren Kierkegaard. These similarities suggest that the Ohio writer's work and aesthetic were deeply influenced by the Danish thinker, and the connection between them lies in the immigrant rural religious communities of the American Middle West. Ultimately, these interrelations reveal a "religious-aesthetic" unique to the entire range of Midwestern literature of the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries, and (...)

Bachtin's concept of personality is considered in light of Kierkegaard's philosophy of human existence. Unlike Kierkegaard, who sees the aesthetic concept of the person moving over into an ethical one, Bachtin takes art to be the highest form of the realization of individuality that brings together the opposing tendencies within the ethical sphere (between what is and what must be).
