  1. On axiomatizations of public announcement logic.Yanjing Wang & Qinxiang Cao - 2013 - Synthese 190 (S1).
In the literature, different axiomatizations of Public Announcement Logic (PAL) have been proposed. Most of these axiomatizations share a “core set” of the so-called “reduction axioms”. In this paper, by designing non-standard Kripke semantics for the language of PAL, we show that the proof system based on this core set of axioms does not completely axiomatize PAL without additional axioms and rules. In fact, many of the intuitive axioms and rules we took for granted could not be derived from the (...)

  • Geometric Modal Logic.Brice Halimi - 2023 - Notre Dame Journal of Formal Logic 64 (3):377-406.
The purpose of this paper is to generalize Kripke semantics for propositional modal logic by geometrizing it, that is, by considering the space underlying the collection of all possible worlds as an important semantic feature in its own right, so as to take the idea of accessibility seriously. The resulting new modal semantics is worked out in a setting coming from Riemannian geometry, where Kripke semantics is shown to correspond to a particular case, namely, the discrete one. Several correspondence results, (...)

This paper supersedes an ealier version, entitled "A Non-Standard Semantics for Inexact Knowledge with Introspection", which appeared in the Proceedings of "Rationality and Knowledge". The definition of token semantics, in particular, has been modified, both for the single- and the multi-agent case.

  • Temporal, numerical and meta-level dynamics in argumentation networks.H. Barringer, D. M. Gabbay & J. Woods - 2012 - Argument and Computation 3 (2-3):143 - 202.
This paper studies general numerical networks with support and attack. Our starting point is argumentation networks with the Caminada labelling of three values 1=in, 0=out and ½=undecided. This is generalised to arbitrary values in [01], which enables us to compare with other numerical networks such as predator?prey ecological networks, flow networks, logical modal networks and more. This new point of view allows us to see the place of argumentation networks in the overall landscape of networks and import and export ideas (...)
