  1. Modern Moral Philosophy Before and After.Constantine Sandis - 2020 - Enrahonar: Quaderns de Filosofía 64.
This paper argues that there was considerably more philosophy of action in moral theory before 1958 than there has been since. This is in part because Anscombe influenced the formation of 'virtue theory' as yet another position within normative ethics, and her work contributed to the fashioning of 'moral psychology' as an altogether distinct branch of moral philosophy.

  • Scandal and Moral Demandingness in the Late Scholastics.Daniel Schwartz - 2015 - British Journal for the History of Philosophy 23 (2):256-276.
This paper examines the views of a number of late scholastic moral theologians, with emphasis on Francisco Suárez, about the limits of the duty to refrain from those otherwise permissible actions which make it difficult for people to choose uprightly. In so doing, the paper singles out and analyses a number circumstantial factors capable of excusing ordinary agents for giving others an occasion of sin.

  • A Defense of the Perverted Faculty Argument Against Homosexual Sex.Timothy Hsiao - 2015 - Heythrop Journal 56 (5):751-758.

According to one version of natural law theory, actions that “pervert” or misuse a bodily faculty are immoral. In this paper, I argue that this “perverted faculty argument” provides a successful account of good and evil action. Several objections are assessed and found inadequate.
