Editor’s Note. Ajdukiewicz’s two papers that follow,Intensional Expressions andProposition as the Connotation of Sentence, were delivered by the Author in 1959 in the United States. They were not yet ready for publication. When answering in 1962 a question concerning his current research work, the Author said: “I intend to continue my investigations in the field of logical semantics and methodology of sciences, and, first of all, I will complete my articles onIntensional Expressions andProposition as the Connotation of Sentence”. The Author’s death in 1963 prevented him from accomplishing that task. The present publication of both articles is based on typescripts dating from 1959.
