Duality of human nature

Quite a disappointing book. Being dyslexic I like to give people the benefit of the doubt when it comes to spellings, and grammar. However this book had the most grammatical mistakes I have ever read in a published book. It almost looks like the book was written in another language and put through a translator program, but not proof read. Even this I could forgive if the message and contents are good.

This might prove I am not an academic philosopher. The ideas in the book are quite sound but continually repeating the same point and following circular logic to come back to the point made at the beginning I am not a fan of. Also one thing I really did not like is there are a lot of problems highlighted in this book, but very few practical solutions. The subject of the book is the duality of human nature, being of individual mindsets but also wanting to live in society. Dome think of the good society can do for them, and others the good they can do for society.

I respect Zaman Ali for achieving and living his dream of being known as and writing philosophy in the style of his own heroes, but the book really has too many minus then plus points. I could be this books appeals to the more classic philosophical mind then mine. The book Is to repetitive, because of which some of the good points made are lost, and there are some good points made in this book. Also there are too few answers in the book for me.

Really enjoyed the idea of humanity as Zaman's philosophy seems to me very practical. But book needs a editor but beside that it is a good book.

I learned a lot about political philosophy that I didn’t know before and realize about how politics shape the lives of people all around the world. And this book really explains the reality of environment around me and everyone else. And the writer also inquires well with explaining the bitter reality and tells us about humanistic part in us.
Overall this book is very good for people interested in political philosophy and writer tries to explain his arguments with humanity as one of political ideas that is good as he said humanity prevails over other ideologies but he also explains that because of political power every idea is imperfect and there is no universal idea.

I needed this book for many challenges so I sat down and read this 220 page book and, I hate to be mean, I wasted 2 hours of my day. Why is this book have an overall rating of 4.17? Frankly, this book was a mess. I normally don’t slam books but, my goodness, the grammar mistakes were a constant throughout the book and made it almost unreadable. Maybe the writing was bad because the author isn’t a native English speaker/writer, but did he have an editor? To be honest, the terrible writing was so distracting that I can’t really tell you what the book is about on a deep level. I copied some of the first page of the book so I can show readers just how bad the writing is in the book.

“Human as an intellectual being needs answers about the existence for the purpose of knowing the way to live. If he lives the way to his answers then these answers become his ideologies and gave him values to live through the life. Because human thinks as an individual that’s why there are many different ideologies and values as each human could find himself different answers about the questions of existence and then he could believe and cannot believe on those answers. As Sophocles say what people believe prevails over truth. So each human believe in certain ideology and think of it as true and that’s why even any one assume that if any human has true and right answers as the real truth is. Even then most of human will never accept those answers because of their own answers and believe in the trueness of their answers. As human believe what they want to believe and individual could believe according to his mind that why human never has any agreement on one ideology. And with this one can say that human ideologies are based on human believe and acceptance of one ideology by all human is not possible as long as each human could find answers about his existence by his mind. One can ask why each human mind thinks different from other? And why each human has his own individuality? Why each human find differently and why human have lot of different questions and answers about his existence? How each human can finds different answers even they grew up in similar world? Is there is any knowledge that could lead humans towards to have and accepts the true answer as it is? Before answering this we need to understand that everything is different and nothing is same in the universe.

Do you see what I mean? This is terrible! The bad writing and grammar completely distracted me from truly taking anything away from this book. Ali needs to get an editor to make his writing understandable to readers. Until he does that, my bet is that not many readers will take away anything from his novels. I don’t recommend this book. There are so many good books out there relating to philosophy, race, humanity, etc..., especially in the age of Trump. 1 star.
