Abstract

Micro-Politics and Enlightenment: Socio-ontological Perspectives after Nietzsche and Foucault By means of the theoretical register of the enlightening micro-politics after Nietzsche and Foucault it is aimed at developing a new way of how to analyze the costs of the incongruence between the individual and society. The abstract name of this incongruence should be concretized by one of the key aspects, namely by the notion of reification. To this end, it is necessary not to interpret the notion of enlightenment as the historic epoch of the 17th and 18th century, but as a gesture of critique and self-critique. When usually the notion of enlightenment is conceived as a way of shedding light on the political, social or religious “guards” (Kant), then it remains to be seen that the enlightened subject him or herself is always a part of the reifying structures, too. Accordingly, the text at hand seeks to clarify this entanglement with the help of the enlightening micro-politics after Nietzsche and Foucault.
