Interval Semantics for Some Event Expressions

Semantics from Different Points of View

Part of the book series: Springer Series in Language and Communication ((SSLAN,volume 6))

Abstract

This paper is the third in a series which investigates the properties of spatio-temporal modifiers in a categorial language with an interval-based semantics. Although intended to complement its predecessors ([13] and [15]) it is intended to be self-contained and a summary of the syntax and semantics presupposed is given in section 10. I shall also be making reference to [11] where categorial languages are set out and discussed more fully. (Though, as in [13] and [15], I shall not always be sticking to all the details of [11]). I shall also be making reference to [12].
