Abstract

THE PURPOSE OF THIS NOTE IS TO SHOW THAT BOCHENSKI'SBELIEF THAT WE DO NOT FIND IN ARISTOTLE'S LOGICAL WORKS THEPRINCIPLE OF THE TRANSITIVITY OF IDENTITY IS MISTAKEN. APASSAGE IS CITED FROM THE SECOND BOOK, CHAPTER TWENTY-ONEOF THE "PRIOR ANALYTICS" WHERE ARISTOTLE EXPLICITLY STATESTHE LOGICAL PRINCIPLE WHICH BOCHENSKI THINKS IS MISSINGFROM THE "ORGANON."
