마일부는 중국 현대철학의 선구자로서 ‘육예론(六藝論)’을 통하여 당대의 학풍을 바로 잡고 유가 사상을 재조명해가면서 시대에 마주한 인물이다. 삼대 성현이었던 웅십력과 양수명은 그 사상연구가 상당 부분 이루어졌으나, 마일부에 대해서는 전반적인 사상정립에 대한 연구가 이루어지지 못한 실정이 파악된다. 그의 사상철학은 주륙(朱陸) 사상을 융합하고 회통하려는 시도를 한 것이 특징적이다. 이러한 학문적 성향은 그의 수양론 영역에서 파악할 수 있기에 논자는 이에 착안하여 그의 수양공부론을 검토하고자 한다. 본 논고는 다음과 같이 전개된다.
우선 수양론의 이론토대인 ‘심’에 대한 정립 부분에서 드러나는 심학(心學)적 성격을 살펴보고, 수양공부 방법 측면에서 정립한 주자학적 공부내용을 검토할 것이다. 이 과정은 마일부의 사상 전반을 파악할 뿐만 아니라, 그의 사상적 특성이 어떻게 전개되었는지를 이해하는 의미 있는 작업이 될 것이다.
As a pioneer of Mordern Chinese philosophy, Mailbu is a person facing the era of correcting the comtrmporary academic and reinterpreting the Yuga ideology through the "Liuyelun(六藝論)". Although the study of the idea of the Three sages Xiong-Shi-li and the Yang-Su-ming have been prograssed, it is understood that the study on the general ideology has not been researched. His philosophy of thought is characteristic of attempting to converge Chu Hsi and Lu Jiuyuan’s academic integration and reconciliation, Since this academic tendency can be grasped in the field of his cultivstion, the author intends to examine his theory of cultivation. This thesis is developed as follows. First of all, I will examine the Xinxue’s characteristics revealed in the part of "Xim" which is the theoretical foundation of the theory of the cultivation and zhuxixue’s factors established in terms of the way of cultivating. This process will be a meaningful work not only to grasp the whole part of Mailbu's thought, but also to understand how his ideological characteristics have developed.
