Additional information

An earlier version of this was presented as a comment on a paper by Stemmer at the Western Division Meeting of the APA in 1977. I am grateful to Professor Stemmer for pointing out some mistakes in interpretation. I am indebted to my colleagues at Calvin College for their comments on various drafts of this paper. The referee also made some helpful suggestions.
