The key point in Lenartowicz’s philosophy was the concept of a living organism (specimen or person), understood as a life cycle that, being linked with other similar cycles, is woven into a network of generations of a given type of living being. The foundation of the life cycle is the developmental dynamics that begins at the moment of conception. Looking at an individual from the point of view of their development, we can say that in its deepest essence this is not so much, and not primarily, a comprehensive functional structure that manifests life, but rather a vital dynamics, one of the fundamental manifestations of which is its integrated building, rebuilding (constant metabolic turnover), repair (regeneration) and modification of various correlated bodily structures — i.e. molecular machines, organelles and organs — which determine the occurrence of various biochemical and physiological processes and enable selective interaction with abiotic and biotic environments.
