January 6, 2021: Another Day That Will Live in Infamy?

Once the new bipartisan independent commission supported by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and others in Congress, like the formal enquiry launched by President George W. Bush after 9/11 to investigate radical Islamic terrorism, delivers its findings about today’s domestic terrorism, the nation will learn more about the violent attack on the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC, on January 6, 2021. Like December 7, 1941, or 9/11, as Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) claims, this date could well be another “day of infamy” in American history. In the meantime, it is clear this unprecedented event in the life of the republic merits some reflections now.
