Extract

The latest book by one of Canada's most distinguished philosophers has been in the works for some time. So it is fitting that the Canadian Philosophical Association should have devoted a special symposium to David Braybrooke's Meeting Needs in our 1987 annual meeting. An earlier version of the review that follows was presented at that symposium and has benefitted from some replies from Braybrooke. As one might have expected, as we parted company after that symposium, we still had some fundamental disagreements.
