RESIDENCIAS-EN-VIAJE: DIMENSIONES DIASPÓRICAS EN RASTAFARI.
- Authors
Porley, Diego Larrique
- Abstract
This article discusses the centrality of the Polis as a hermeneutical horizon of modernity. The contemporary Polis includes diverse forms of organizations and cultures that produce its constant fragmentation, makes it permeable to diverse narratives, and cannot hide its "grey zones," in Augé's terms. The aim of this article is to return to James Clifford's concept of Residence-in-travel in order to understand the diaspora dimensions of the Rastafarian culture. In Rastafari there is a vision of the polis that, similar to the biblical Babilonian figure, seeks to bypass it by all means, constructing instead other topos for coming utopias.
