Description
The family is one of the most important social institutions created by social relations. Nasr Ad-Din Tusi's discussion on the concept of the family in his book “Akhlaqi-Nasiri” and his views on the necessity of this institution, are of great importance in the sense that man is a cultural being by nature. Because the family is a door that opens from the individual to society. Tusi's conception of the family is not based on the need to satisfy sexual desires, but on the need to leave a generation that will continue the human race. He deals with the relationship between men and women not in terms of biological needs, but in terms of humanity and morality. The purpose of this study is to explain Tusi's concept of the family in terms of its main features, to show how much he was influenced by the ideas and approaches of previous philosophers in this matter. In this sense, one of the main goals is to determine the extent to which he influences the subsequent moral thinkers. According to the article, Tusi was influenced by Ibn Sina in the classification of sciences and included moral science as an integral part of practical philosophy. He also deepened the content of moral philosophy in the Islamic world by evaluating the science of family management and politics in this context. At the same time, Tusi details all three areas of practical philosophy in his book Akhlaqi-Nasiri, which distinguishes him from Ibn Miskawayh.
