Come Along: We Are Truth-Bound, Volume 2

Hamilton Books, 2009 - Body, Mind & Spirit - 200 pages
Quest for Confirmation, the second volume of the series Come Along: We Are Truth-Bound, is a cross-examination of the concepts derived in Volume One, A Dialogue and Dialectic: Bridging the Great Epistemic Divides. The cross-examination is conducted by means of a dialogue with a representative thinker from each of the related bodies of knowledge. The study reveals reality to be an intricate, harmoniously-integrated whole and terminates in "An Epistemological Atlas" that depicts the major processes of human knowledge in their application to different disciplines. The process itself exposes the latter to be the stepping stones of our mind's ascent to the ultimate truth. In light of this understanding, the unresolved controversies in philosophy gain a new degree of clarity and reveal their relevance to human life.

This volume, a work in epistemology that encompasses human knowledge in general, lends itself to different courses but is of special significance to philosophy, theology, and physics.

About the author (2009)

Jacinta Respondowska--born in Poland, exiled to Siberia in 1940, a refugee in 1941-42--came to the United States in 1947. A philosopher and an educator, she received her Ph.D. in philosophy from Duquesne University and has been teaching at Alvernia College (now University) since 1972. Since she received the status of Professor Emerita in 2004, she has been devoting most of her time to writing. Her goal now is to share what she has discovered on life's journey, hoping thereby to evoke in a reader an unswerving commitment to what really matters in life. A desire for personal excellence and a love for learning will pave the way to Truth that carries one aloft to the fulfillment of one's noblest dreams. She was awarded the degree of Doctor of Humane Letters in 2010. Her undertaking is a response to the calls from the learned, coming from around the globe, for a new system in philosophy in light of contemporary knowledge that would reflect reality as a synergistically integrated whole--"an interplay of the human, cosmic and Divine." The overriding purpose of the study is to expose the roots of the contemporary crises in the world with the view of reversing the devastating trends to restore the peace, order and harmony for which every human heart craves. The author's life is a superb testimony to that faith which has the power to move mountains; her system of thought, an ingenious way of leading others to the attainment of life's ultimate goal--God.
