Marcello Vitali Rosati
Interpretazione in una logica n-dimensionale di Metafisica IV, 4

The present paper aims at proposing a sort of experiment on whether and how it might be possible to define the self-contradiction principle inside a "broad" logical space. In order to carry over such an experiment the paper shows how one can give a non-traditional logical interpretation of Aristotele’s argument about this principle (Metaph. G 4). The aim is to show that it is possible to conceive a multiplicity such that it cannot be reduced to unity, and that nevertheless does not violate our principle. In order to do this it is necessary to develop a more "powerful" logic than traditional logic, so that the former could be able to contextualize and limit the principle’s validity.
