Consciousness, free action and the brain
Commentary on John Searle's Article (with a short reply from John R. Searle) John Searle (2000a) presents a philosopher's view of how conscious experience and free action relate to brain function. That view demands an examination by a neuroscientist who has experimentally investigated this issue (Libet, 1965; 1973; 1987; 1993; 1994; 1996a; 1999).
