초록

소셜 미디어를 통한 상호작용과 자기표현은 디지털 시대의 젊은 세대에서 하나의 규범이 되었다. 소셜 미디어의 신기함과 만연함은 인간의 다양한 협력과 상호작용을 더욱 증진하면서 새롭고 독특한 여러 가지 사회적ㆍ도덕적 이슈를 제기하는 중이다. 하지만, 도덕교육 학계에서 소셜 미디어는 중요한 위상을 부여받지 못했다. 특히 소셜 미디어가 학생의 삶에 미치는 영향에 대한 이론적ㆍ실제적 분석, 도덕교육에서 소셜 미디어의 효과적인 활용 방안, 소셜 미디어 시대에서 도덕교육의 새로운 방향과 과제에 대한 논의 등이 중요한 의제가 되지 못한 채 도덕과 교육과정에서 사이버 윤리나 정보 통신 윤리의 하위 내용 요소로 매우 피상적으로 다루어지는 정도에 그쳤다. 특히 대부분의 도덕교육 연구자는 도덕교육의 관점에서 소셜 미디어가 학생의 삶에 미치는 영향에 대한 종합적이고 체계적인 분석을 간과하였다. 이에 이 논문에서는 소셜 미디어가 학생의 삶에 미치는 영향을 연구 결과에 근거하여 객관적으로 분석하고, 소셜 미디어 시대에서 도덕교육이 중시해야 할 새로운 어휘로서 디지털 시민성의 중요성을 강조하였다.
