I am happy to keep animals out of the picture if you wish.
But I have difficulties with your second paragraph. In fact I am not quite sure I understand your position so you may have to clarify it for me.
You say:"We just have to agree that when I have a
visual perception, visual phenomenal consciousness (whatever that may
be) is involved; that a blind person has no such phenomenal
consciousness; and that it is conceivable that there could be a person
who is like a blind person in the visual phenomenology department but
just like me with respect to functional and microphysical makeup."
Would the being you describe not simply be your identical twin, but blind? I'm not quite sure why she would qualify as a zombie.
