This article aims to clarify the coherence between the policies of cooperation and migration of the Spanish State as a member of the EU and the United Nations. We have considered the crossroads of the concepts of development, migration and cooperation development in the scope of work of the CPD, which advocates shared responsibility in the field of migration and development. The following article aims to provide a general conceptual definition of participation and its benefits, with immigrants in the process of integration as a reference point. The principal authors mentioned in this article have addressed the phenomenon of associationism with a special focus to study the phenomenon of immigrant associations. These immigrant associations in the last few years have emerged as interlocutors mirroring the needs and interests of recent immigrants, and at the same time they are recognized as spaces and (...) instruments for an active participation in all public areas. One of the more conspicuous symptoms of the anti-impunity movement in transitional justice is a growing objection towards the use of amnesty. While international standards are slowly but surely building a legal barricade to prevent amnesty and impunity, states are searching for alternative measures capable of persuading hostile actors to demobilize. One promising solution to this is Colombia’s proposal for prosecutions accompanied by alternative sentencing under the _Marco Jurídico de la Paz_, which aims to demobilize the guerillas and end a (...) 50-year conflict. But for this proposal to be a genuine alternative to amnesty rather than a political attempt to avoid international legal obligations, it must satisfy victims’ requirements for truth, justice and reparations. This article focuses on the way in which three different communities belonging to religious minorities approach to the task of both granting mutual support among their respective members, and making a contribution to the wider Basque society. By promoting solidarity, these communities become of paramount relevance in the life of their members and attract new ones. Communication for peace is a multi-faceted area which is based primordially in practice and lacks of academic quorum. With the aim of collecting and analyzing the various acceptations that can be found in formal literature, this study presents a taxonomic proposal.
