2008 great depression and oil prices

Abstract

In this study, it is discussed whether this crisis is the hegemony war of USA or not by moving from the idea that the crisis lived recently can be considered as depression.In this discussion, the theoretical structure of the depression and the historical dimension of the crisis were taken into consideration, in the last stage of the study, an econometric test was made. In this econometric test, the data between 1971:01-2008:01, the relationship between current deficit, petrol prices and exchange rates in USA were examined by TVAR unit root, TAR cointegration and TVEC analysis.
