Carl Schmitt's Theory of Democracy examines specifically Schmitt's juridical works of the twenties and the early thirties of the XX century, combining different scientific approaches: political theory, constitutional history and constitutional theory, and organizing schmittian comment of the Weimar Constitution in the period of a century and a half of the history of modern democracy, that goes from the birth, in the age of the French Revolution, of the first republican constitutions to the Weimer Republic
