/// There is something in man that feels a sort of magnetism toward pulchritude. More than ratiocination itself, there is, so to say, an “instinct” in man’s very being that makes him capable of wonder and makes him glimpse and search for the excellence of beauty — a sensus pulchrum. This sensus pulchrum, which is the motor of awe and wonderment, becomes, in this way, the key for opening the door of man’s being for the encounter and relationship with the Absolute Being, whom he seeks through spiritual instinct and connaturality, since his being participates in God’s being. In this return to God, the being goes in search of the source and the end of his own self, glimpsing and becoming awed with the beauty of His mysteries. In this way, the aesthetic and metaphysical process culminates in a mystical and soteriological nuance."
