Abstract

This article focuses on the concept of politics and its characteristics as analyzed by Hannah Arendt. We are interested on some negative approaches to this concept, particularly, those referring to its characteristics which were inherited from philosophical tradition. Arendt’s distinction between praxis and theoría is complemented by her objection to the manufacturing analogy whose criteria are extrapolated from work to the public sphere. The author acknowledges the link between these two objections and lists some of their consequences.
