Abstract
In the eulogy for the death of the Emperor Theodosius held on February 25, a.D. 395, Ambrose introduces the episode of the finding of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem for the interest of Helena, mother of Constantine. That allows the bishop of Milan to expose his political- religious conceptions. The article offers a systematic analysis of the excursus from a literary point of view.Author's Profile
