Abstract
In this essay the author focuses on the meaning of Edoardo Massimilla’s studies “about Weber”. The problems of “youth”, “profession” and “science”, analyzed by Massimilla to reconstruct the controversies aroused by Wissenschaft als Beruf, are central also for a more general understanding of the spiritual and political environment in early 20th century Germany
