Abstract

Edgar A. Towne is Professor of Theology, Emeritus at Christian Theological Seminary, Indianapolis. This book began as Towne’s 1967 doctoral dissertation in the Divinity School of the University of Chicago. The original title, Ontological and Theological Dimensions of God in the Thought of Paul Tillich and Charles Hartshorne, clearly described the intent of his study. While the essential structure and documentation of this earlier form remains, the presentation in this present work is briefer, with additional notes referring to recent study on Tillich and Hartshorne.
