Abstract
God's love with the mystics is characterized by reciprocity. We love God and God loves us. Such a reciprocity is to be met with a disciple of François de Sales, Jean - Pierre Camus. He would most probably proceed from the monks from the desert, with the texts gathered in Philocalia. Strangely enough beyond a classical amor Dei in which God does not answer our love, i. e. an amor intellectualis Dei, recapturing reciprocity as at the end of Spinoza's Ethics. Paradoxically, the latter foretells a very same love, adding the taking into account of pain, which is today typical of Simone Weil's thought.
