Hans-Georg Gadamer and Wilhelm Dilthey: Readings and considerations on the idea of living experience

Abstract

Gadamer, in the first part of Truth and Method, offers an overview of the different times in which has made the tradition of humanist thought. One of the concepts that, to our knowledge, has special relevance within the philosophical approach Gadamerian hermeneutics --by being a concept that echoes the diltheyana-- is the notion of experience. In accordance with the arguments it uses Diltheyan vision Gadamer on the idea of ​​experience, our reading is held in the fact that this notion gains a positive experience regarding all understanding.
