Spiritual economics: New definitions of development in a new age of growth

Abstract

With tremendous leaps in economic development, what is now needed is a realignment of human perspective to include a quotient of inner peace and spiritual ardor into economic development and human welfare. This would also allow mental stress, a negative externality which currently causes loss of millions to the corporate industry, to be addressed in firms' loss functions and hence increase employee efficiency through active relaxation and counseling.
