Abstract

Los cambios de la última década en la consideración social de la violencia contra las mujeres en España no pueden entenderse sin la atención que el problema ha merecido por parte del movimiento feminista y de los medios de comunicación. En este artículo se revisa la intervención de ambos en el proceso de construcción de la violencia contra las mujeres como un problema social. Finalmente se intentarán trazar las líneas de confluencia de ambos agentes en el tratamiento del fenómeno.The changes achieved during the last decade in Spain as regards the social consideration of violence against women cannot be understood without considering the attention it has received from the feminist movement and the media. This article examines the role that both play in the process of constructing violence against women as a social problem. Finally, it attempts to draw the lines of confluence between feminist movements and the media when dealing with the issue.
