Abstract
During the late Middle Ages, three great plays were performed in the city of York. The most well known is the Corpus Christi Play, which tells the biblical story from Creation to Judgment in great detail. This play was controlled by the city council and performed by the craft guilds, normally on the feast of Corpus Christi every year. Unlike the other plays, its text, as well as a wealth of detail concerning its performance and the involvement of the individual guilds, has survived. jQuery.click { event.preventDefault(); })
