Abstract

Using a descriptive- analytical method, the present paper mainly seeks to review, analyze and criticize Fakhr Razi’s view about the stages of man’s perfection. He defines perfection as the strengthening factor of theoretical and practical intellect and uses it as an equivalent for felicity in some of his works. In his different works, Razi depicts several stages for perfection. His different views about perfection can be first divided into two types: the stages of man’s perfection in this world and the stages of his perfection in other world. The stages of man’s perfection in this world can be classified philosophically, morally and mystically. Different accounts are used to explain each of these types.
